Pharmacy Technician

We are currently hiring for a Pharmacy Technician for a Long Term Care Pharmacy located in Carnegie!

Title: Pharmacy Technician
Location: Pittsburgh, PA (Carnegie, 15106)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM, occasional Saturdays (not frequent)
Pay: $17-$19 per hour

About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and tech-savvy Pharmacy Technician to join our long-term care pharmacy team. In this role, you'll work hands-on with advanced technology, including a state-of-the-art automated dispensing robot that fills 60% of prescriptions. This is a physically active role that requires time on your feet and involves highly repetitive tasks-perfect for those who thrive in a structured, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage inventory using cutting-edge software systems and barcode scanning.
• Operate and monitor an automated dispensing robot.
• Accurately fill prescription orders by reviewing scripts, pulling medications, and preparing patient-specific medication punch cards.
• Enter and verify patient and prescription information, ensuring accuracy in data entry.
• Flag potential issues (allergies, drug interactions, duplications) and consult with the pharmacist as needed.
• Maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, including HIPAA.
• Prioritize and process orders efficiently to meet deadlines.

What You'll Need

• Background: While pharmacy experience is a plus, it's not required. We're open to candidates with experience in inventory, fulfillment, or similar roles (e.g., Inventory Specialist, Fulfillment Associate).
• Skills: Strong attention to detail, comfort with technology, and ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
• Adaptability: A willingness to embrace the repetitive nature of the role and focus on accuracy and efficiency.

Preferred Experience

• Pharmacy Tech or Fill Tech experience.
• Background in environments like Amazon, GoPuff, or similar fulfillment roles.
• Stocking or cashier experience in retail or grocery settings (secondary preference).
