Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent.
Pharmacy Technician: National certification and state licensure required
Understanding of medical terminology and pharmacy calculations.
Capable of donning and wearing all required protective gear (mask, gloves, lab coat, coveralls, etc.).
Knowledge of USP 795, USP 800, USP 795, and cGMP FDA 503B Guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

As a Compounding Pharmacy Technician you will…

Follow proprietary formulations to compound commercially unavailable prescriptions.
Compound sterile injectables, ophthalmics, oral liquids, topical agents, and tablets.
Participate in regular audits and inspections.
Ensure the compounding lab is cleaned and maintained per procedures.
Maintain and calibrate scales, electronic meters, and document appropriately.
Routinely check for outdated or soon-to-expire chemicals.
Complete compounding continuous education responsibilities.
Follow all safety training for handling hazardous substances.
Understand and familiarize with cGMP (21 CFR 211), 503B Guidance, USP<800>, USP<797>, USP<795>, and other documents as assigned.
Work closely with the Pharmacist in Charge to ensure quality products are compounded.
Monitor and report low inventory levels to the supervisor.
Dispose of chemicals properly.
Document quality procedures in the appropriate logs.
Perform continuous QA on compounds.
Prepare samples for testing.
Initiate investigations for deviations from standard procedures or products.

Work Environment: This position is going to be ON SITE.
