Job Title: Pharmacy Technician

Location: Meadville, PA
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Description:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. In this role, you will support the pharmacists on duty by accurately and efficiently processing medication orders and managing pharmacy inventory. You will play a key role in ensuring medication deliveries are completed accurately and on schedule. This position requires a commitment to excellent customer service, teamwork, and precision in all aspects of pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities:

General Pharmacy Duties:

  • Assist pharmacists as a primary responsibility, completing duties under their supervision and guidance.
  • Accurately and efficiently fill orders in a timely manner.
  • Comply with pharmacy policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the toting area for medication deliveries as needed.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by pharmacists or management.

Automation Duties:

  • Process orders for daily cycle fill medication deliveries via automated dispensing machines.
  • Maintain up-to-date medication information in machine software databases.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks on medication strips, addressing any machine or user errors.
  • Organize medication strips accurately by community wings, ensuring correct allocations.
  • Ensure all active residents have medication strips while excluding discontinued orders.
  • Monitor and replenish automated dispensing machine consumables.
  • Communicate with client staff regarding resident medication updates.
  • Meet scheduled deadlines for medication deliveries.

Floor Duties:

  • Package new and refill orders in the pharmacy software system with a focus on accuracy.
  • Track the supply of pre-packaged medication cards, initiating new packaging as needed.
  • Repack unit-dose medications using automated dispensing and unit-dose packaging machines.
  • Prepare external compounds accurately.
  • Ensure timely completion of scheduled medication deliveries.
  • Restock pharmacy inventory daily.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, and arithmetic; clear and legible written communication skills.
  • Professional phone and customer service skills.
  • Ability to interpret and follow oral and written instructions.
  • Proficiency with Windows applications and general computer skills.
  • Familiarity with medical abbreviations, brand, and generic drug names for prescription interpretation and fulfillment.

Job Type: Full time

Compensation: $17-19 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full time - Mon-Fri with rotating weekends

Location: Meadville, PA

Start Date: ASAP

Benefits: In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
