Job description

Position: Pharmacy Billing Associate

Location: Eden Prairie, Minnesota

Role Overview:

As a Pharmacy Technician, Billing Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering outstanding customer service and serving as a crucial billing resource. You will work closely with insurance and hospice providers and manage various systems to address billing errors, rejected claims, and prior authorizations. This role involves a variety of tasks including processing returns, reviewing and completing daily reports, and locating Medicaid numbers. Your expertise will help ensure that the needs of our long-term care patients are met with the highest standards of service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle billing errors, rejected claims, and prior authorizations efficiently.
  • Collaborate with insurance and hospice providers to resolve issues.
  • Manage and rotate through various billing and administrative tasks.
  • Process returns and review daily reports to ensure accuracy.
  • Locate and verify Medicaid numbers as needed.
  • Provide high-quality service in response to calls and emails, listening carefully and resolving issues appropriately.
  • Work closely with a collaborative team, sharing the daily workload.

What We're Looking For:

  • Minimum of two years of experience in a pharmacy (Tech or Billing), preferably in a retail or long-term care setting.
  • Must be licensed
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and a critical thinker with a passion for problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and customer service skills.
  • Proficient in navigating multiple computer systems and managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative attitude.

Work Schedule:

  • Pharmacy hours: 8 AM - 8 PM, Monday to Friday.
  • Rotating schedule within these hours with start times varying from 9 AM, 9:30 AM, to 11:30 AM - 8 PM.
  • Weekend shifts are required approximately every 2-3 weekends, from 9 AM - 5:30 PM both days. If you work a weekend shift, you will have two weekdays off.
  • Busy periods occur from the 1st to the 4th of each month, including weekends that fall within this timeframe. Expect mandatory overtime during these peak times.

Salary: $18 - $24/hour (based off expereince)
