Title: Medical Assistant / EMT

Day to Day:

• Room patients in exam rooms: including taking vital signs, history, and preparing patient and equipment to be seen by the provider
• Collect specimens and perform routine diagnostic procedures including audiograms, vision and hearing screenings, ear irrigations, TB skin tests, spirometry, urinalysis, PCR testing for strep, influenza and RSV; lipid, glucose, CBC, mono, ESR, lead testing and HIV testing; assisting with minor surgery and other procedures
• Laboratory activities including phlebotomy and capillary draws, urine catheterization, throat and NP swabs and dental varnishes
• Administer medications and vaccinations per provider order
• Receive patient phone calls and takes messages for providers
• Fax and mail correspondence for provider and/or charge nurse
• Coordinate referrals to outside providers and scheduling outside appointments

Shifts:

• 4 days / week

• 2 shifts: 8a-7p

• 2 shifts: 8a-59

• 1 weekend half day shift every 3-4 weeks (8a-1p) (Sat or Sun)

Qualifications:

• MA diploma or EMT Certification

• High School Diploma or GED
