Job description

The Hematology Oncology Institute is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Experience Representative to join their growing healthcare team. This position plays a vital role in ensuring an efficient and welcoming patient registration process, as well as assisting in various aspects of patient care coordination.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Patient Registration & Check-In:
    • Check in approximately 170 patients daily across various departments.
    • Ensure that all patient information is accurately entered into the system.
    • Verify insurance information and assist with any necessary updates.
  • Scheduling & Administrative Support:
    • Provide administrative support for the scheduling team.
    • Assist in coordinating patient appointments and managing any scheduling-related tasks, under the guidance of the Scheduling Coordinator.
    • Support the infusion room scheduling (21-bed infusion area) by assisting with patient check-ins and documentation.
  • Insurance Verification & Prior Authorization:
    • Verify insurance details for patients prior to appointments.
    • Assist with obtaining prior authorizations as needed to ensure timely service.
  • Patient Experience:
    • Serve as a point of contact for patients regarding their check-in process.
    • Provide exceptional customer service to patients and their families.
    • Address any patient concerns or inquiries in a professional and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, particularly in patient registration or a similar administrative role.
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Familiarity with insurance verification and prior authorization processes is preferred.

Additional Skill:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Must be reliable, take initiative, work independently, be a quick learner, and demonstrate strong attention to detail.

Schedule/Shift:

  • Monday - Friday, flexible hours between 7:30 AM - 5 PM

Contract Length:

700 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$16.66 - $24.05 (Dependant on experience)
