Job description

Position Title: Patient Care Coordinator / Scheduler

Location: San Antonio

Position Overview:
The Patient Care Coordinator / Scheduler plays a key role in supporting patient care by scheduling preventative health screenings on behalf of primary care physicians (PCPs) and for the central Texas Practice Support Unit (PSU) teams. This role ensures the provider schedules are filled to maximum capacity, contributing to efficient, patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate daily patient scheduling for preventive health screenings to meet provider capacity goals.
  • Conduct 60-80 outbound calls per day to schedule appointments.
  • Work within a web-based call system to manage and track call volume and appointment scheduling.
  • Utilize medical terminology and knowledge of appointment scheduling to ensure efficient and accurate scheduling.
  • Maintain accurate records and manage scheduling data for tracking and reporting purposes.

Ideal Candidate Background:

  • Experience: Minimum 1 year in a medical office or patient care setting, with a strong focus on senior patient care.
  • Skillset: Proficiency in medical scheduling systems, basic medical terminology, and familiarity with CMS guidelines are highly valued.
  • Attributes: Strong data entry skills, web-based call experience, and an organized approach to managing daily tasks.

Preferred Skills:

  • 1 year of experience with web-based phone systems.
  • Knowledge of CMS guidelines, especially related to preventive care, to support accurate and compliant scheduling.

This position requires strong communication skills, a customer-service-oriented approach, and familiarity with the healthcare environment.
