Job description

Responsibilities
* Follow-Up and Payment Management: Ensure outstanding balances are promptly followed up on and paid by communicating with patients via phone calls and discussing their accounts in detail.
* External Collection Action: Work on accounts for external collection action as a last resort, following exhaustion of all internal collection avenues.
* Payment Processing: Accept payments over the phone from patients and arrange payment plans when necessary to facilitate timely resolution of accounts.
* Credit Research and Refunds: Research and prepare patient credits, coordinating with accounting to process approved refunds efficiently.
* Demographic Information Management: Make necessary changes to demographic information to ensure clean patient statements are produced.
* Call Volume Expectation: Patient A/R Representatives are expected to handle approximately 300 calls per week (~60 calls per day) efficiently and professionally.

Qualifications
* Prior experience in self-pay, billing customer service representative (CSR), or collections role, demonstrating proficiency in account management.
* Familiarity with working on Electronic Medical Records (EMRs), with experience in NextGen being a plus.
* Strong customer service orientation with the ability to engage with patients effectively and empathetically.
* Working knowledge of Explanation of Benefits (EOBs) to interpret and explain patient account information accurately.

Schedule
* Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm

Pay
* $17 to $21 an hour
