Job Title: Patient Access Specialist

Job Description:

The Patient Access Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. This position is responsible for efficiently managing patient registration, obtaining necessary insurance and demographic information, scheduling procedures, and supporting a positive flow throughout the registration area.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Greeting patients, providing information, answering phones, registering patients and entering exam orders as required.
  • Obtaining all demographics, insurance information, appropriate codes, and authorizations from patients (or their representatives) and physicians in a courteous and efficient manner for billing.
  • Scheduling for a variety of procedures: surgery, outpatient groups, labs
  • Other duties pertinent to optimal patient experience, patient flow, and efficient staff utilization are also expected.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • EPIC (EHR) experience
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Basic knowledge of insurance, coding, and authorizations
  • Basic knowledge of the revenue cycle- AR/ collections
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology

Schedule/ Shift: Tuesday -Friday 7:00 am - 5:30 pm
