Job description

Patient Registration: Welcome patients upon arrival, gather demographic and insurance details, and accurately input the information into electronic health records (EHR) or registration systems.

Insurance Verification: Confirm insurance coverage and benefits, including eligibility, co-pays, deductibles, and authorization requirements. Clearly communicate financial responsibilities and address any insurance-related questions.

Appointment Scheduling: Coordinate and schedule patient appointments for medical consultations, diagnostic tests, procedures, and follow-ups based on physician instructions and availability.

Patient Assistance: Support patients with registration processes, completing paperwork, understanding financial assistance programs, and accessing additional resources for their healthcare needs.

Confidentiality and Compliance: Protect patient privacy by adhering to confidentiality regulations (e.g., HIPAA) and ensuring compliance with institutional policies, insurance regulations, and billing requirements.

Communication: Foster clear and courteous communication with patients, families, healthcare providers, and staff to coordinate appointments, resolve issues, and share essential information.

Financial Counseling: Partner with financial counselors to assist patients with insurance questions, payment options, financial assistance programs, and arranging payment plans when necessary.

Quality Assurance: Verify the accuracy and completeness of registration data, promptly addressing discrepancies or errors. Contribute to quality improvement efforts to optimize the registration process.

Emergency Response: Remain calm and efficient in high-pressure situations, such as emergency room admissions or sudden patient surges, ensuring timely registration and assistance.
