Location: Greensburg, PA

Hours: First and Second shifts are available

Pay: $18/hr

Position is Contract to Hire through Medix Healthcare

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Patient Access Representative to join our team. This position is contract-to-hire through Medix, a trusted partner in healthcare staffing solutions. The Patient Access Representative will be responsible for ensuring a positive patient experience from the moment they enter our facility. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Register patients by obtaining necessary demographic and insurance information accurately and efficiently.
  • Verify insurance coverage and obtain pre-authorizations as needed.
  • Explain financial responsibilities, including co-pays, deductibles, and out-of-pocket expenses, to patients.
  • Schedule appointments and assist patients with completing necessary paperwork.
  • Answer phone calls and address patient inquiries and concerns promptly and courteously.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to ensure a seamless patient experience.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Assist with other administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare administration or customer service preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance verification, and billing processes is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Flexible availability, including the ability to work weekends as needed.
