Job description

2 Full Time ER Patient Access Representative openings

  • Helps orient new hires to the department.
  • Registers patients accurately.
  • Interfaces and communicates with all hospital employees, building and maintaining a positive and constructive working relationship.
  • Verifies that each admission conforms to the defined policies and procedures of the registration process.
  • Ensures authorizations have been obtained and entered into Meditech.
  • Attends department staff meetings.
  • Complies with Health Stream and Employee Health requirements.
  • Assists Department Lead and Supervisor as required.
  • All patients are registered accurately and proficiently, according to departmental policies and procedures, including but not limited to:
    • Insured's name, relationship, and policy number are correct.
    • Financial class and insurance plan code are correct.
    • Complete and accurate Medicare screening questions answered on all Medicare patients.
    • ID Insurance card and Physicians orders are scanned into Meditech.
  • Advance directives questions are answered completely on Admits and scanned into Meditech.
  • Consent for Treatment signed and Important Medicare Message signed on all Inpatients.
  • Quality Assurance must be performed to ensure the highest degree of data integrity through the timely, complete, and efficient collection of patient information:
  • No spelling errors.
  • Correct armbands for patient.
  • Copays/Deductibles and Deposits are requested from all insured and self-pay patients.
  • Patient valuables are registered and released without error or complaint.
  • Completes age-specific competency orientation and training.

    • Check in patients

    • Complete pre-collections, co-pays, deductibles

  • Preferred: Epic

  • Parking: Employee parking, free

  • Dress code: Scrubs, Business Casual, Tennis Shoes OK

  • Selling Point: New emergency rooms in Prov California.
