Shift Options: 3p-11p |11p-7am (day shift 7-3 as well - limited openings)

Job Description

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Accurately register patients into the hospital or healthcare facility's system, ensuring that all necessary information is collected and documented.
  • Verify and update patient demographic and insurance information to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collect necessary identification, insurance cards, and other required documents from patients, explaining the registration process and any financial responsibilities they may have.
  • Collaborate with clinical and administrative staff to coordinate patient check-in, appointments, and scheduling as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all privacy and security regulations, including HIPAA, when handling patient information.
  • Provide clear and concise information to patients and their families regarding registration, admission, and financial policies.
  • Assist patients with any questions or concerns related to their registration, insurance coverage, or financial obligations.
  • Work efficiently to minimize patient wait times and maintain a positive patient experience.
  • Address and resolve any registration-related issues or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
  • Maintain accurate records and databases, including electronic health records and registration systems.
  • Collaborate with the billing department to ensure accurate billing and insurance claims processing.
  • Participate in ongoing training and education to stay updated on registration processes, insurance requirements, and healthcare regulations.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as needed.

Job qualifications include:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework in healthcare administration is a plus).
  • Previous experience in healthcare registration or a related customer service role is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally and compassionately with patients and their families.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and electronic health records (EHR) software.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, insurance plans, and billing procedures is advantageous.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and adhere to privacy regulations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
