Employment Type: Full-time, flexible schedule

About the Role:

As the Outreach Manager, you will manage and develop a team of Outreach Specialists, conduct outreach work in laundromats, and help drive the growth of our services in the Pittsburgh region. You'll spend time both in the field and in management, leading the outreach team and building relationships with laundromat partners and families.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Management & Development

  • Lead a team of Outreach Specialists by setting objectives, providing coaching, and delivering direct feedback.
  • Manage team logistics: unblocking challenges (e.g., inventory and work conditions), scheduling, and staff performance.
  • Develop new outreach strategies to optimize the team's effectiveness.

Outreach Work

  • Engage with families in laundromats, assess their needs, and assist with public benefits applications (e.g., Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP).
  • Help families navigate healthcare systems, including making doctor's appointments and managing health plans.
  • Make referrals to external resources as necessary and ensure documentation is completed.

Hiring & Staff Management

  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new Outreach Specialists.
  • Oversee scheduling, approve work hours, and handle administrative tasks related to the team.

Metrics & Reporting

  • Track key performance indicators (e.g., outreach touchpoints, public benefits applications) to drive results.
  • Serve as the face of the company in the Pittsburgh area, managing relationships with laundromat partners and expanding outreach to new locations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in community outreach, field marketing, canvassing, customer service, or sales.
  • Proven track record of managing teams of 3+ people.
  • Willingness to work in laundromats and engage directly with the public.
  • Availability on weekends (when laundromats are busiest).
  • Reliable transportation to various laundromat locations in the Greater Pittsburgh area.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high-needs populations.
  • Comfort with using apps and technology for daily operations.
  • Familiarity with state benefits application platforms (e.g., Compass).
  • Spanish fluency is a plus.
  • AmeriCorps, Peace Corps, and other national service alumni are encouraged to apply.

What We Offer:

  • Benefits: Full-time employees receive a generous PTO plan, a monthly medical stipend, and equity options.
  • Training: Comprehensive training is provided to ensure you're fully prepared for success.
  • Flexible Schedule: While this is a full-time position, work schedules can be adjusted for personal needs, but weekend availability is a must.
