Location: Hybrid, working both remotely and in Laundromats within the Greater Pittsburgh area

Salary and Benefits:

  • Salary: $60,000-$65,000 annually
  • Full-time benefits include a generous PTO plan, monthly medical stipend, and equity options.

Schedule:

  • Typically Monday to Friday with flexibility; occasional weekend work required based on laundromat schedules.
  • Remote work with frequent onsite presence at laundromats; ability to manage schedule independently.

Position Overview: We are seeking an Outreach Manager to lead the Pittsburgh-area team of Outreach Specialists. This role will be pivotal in managing the team while actively engaging in on-the-ground outreach efforts within laundromats. The Outreach Manager will play a key role in shaping our products and processes as part of the Pittsburgh leadership team.

Responsibilities:

  • Team Management and Development:
  • Lead and motivate a team of Outreach Specialists through coaching, feedback, and performance management.
  • Set and oversee individual and team objectives to achieve outreach goals.
  • Effectively communicate with a diverse team, managing different backgrounds and experience levels.
  • Resolve team challenges, including inventory management and working in public settings.
  • Innovate and implement new outreach strategies to enhance team effectiveness.
  • On-the-Ground Outreach:
  • Conduct direct outreach in laundromats, building relationships with families.
  • Identify families' healthcare and public benefit needs, assisting with applications (e.g., Medicaid, SNAP, LIHEAP).
  • Guide families in navigating health plans and scheduling medical appointments.
  • Make referrals to external resources as required, ensuring comprehensive support.
  • Hiring, Staffing, and Scheduling:
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding new Outreach team members.
  • Develop and manage outreach schedules, ensuring efficient coverage and productivity.
  • Handle administrative tasks related to team management, including approving hours and managing schedules.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in community outreach, field marketing, canvassing, customer service, or sales.
  • Proven experience managing small teams (3+ people).
  • Comfortable working directly in laundromats and available on weekends as needed.
  • Reliable transportation for travel throughout Greater Pittsburgh.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with high-needs populations.
  • Proficiency with various apps and technologies.
  • Familiarity with benefit application processes like Compass or similar platforms.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus.
