Job description

Join a dynamic team of experienced coding professionals dedicated to excellence in hospital-based outpatient and surgical coding. We are seeking Coding Auditors with a proven track record in multi-specialty surgical coding, education, and auditing. This position offers growth opportunities, ongoing education, and a collaborative environment within a faith-based healthcare organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct audits for hospital-based outpatient and ambulatory surgeries.
  • Maintain 95% productivity and accuracy rates.
  • Research and apply CCI, CMS, LCD, and MCD guidelines.
  • Develop educational materials using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Code multi-specialty surgical cases and apply complex coding guidelines.
  • Utilize EMR systems such as Epic and 3M to perform audits.
  • Collaborate across departments to support coding teams and provider education initiatives.
  • Provide feedback and handle rebuttals with professionalism and a growth mindset.

Location: 100% Remote (Must meet specific location requirements, see below)

Employment Type: Contract-to-Hire (640 hours)

Compensation: Up to $39/hour

Qualifications

  • Required:
  • CPC or AHIMA RT certification.
  • Minimum 5 years of auditing and provider education experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of coding experience in a medical specialty.
  • Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
  • Experience with Epic EMR system.
  • High School Diploma or GED (proof required).
  • Preferred:
  • CPMA certification.
  • MD Audit Enterprise experience.

  • Ability to follow directions and embrace feedback constructively.
  • Growth mindset with flexibility to learn new specialties.

Schedule & Training

  • Flexible start times (as early as 5 a.m. CST, clocked in by 8 a.m. CST).
  • 40-hour workweek; no overtime during the contract period.
  • Mandatory 3-4 week training program with no time off during this period.

Technology Requirements

  • Must have stable, high-speed internet:
  • Router must support Ethernet connections (no satellite Wi-Fi or hotspots).
  • Client provides equipment (desktop, dual monitors, keyboard, headset, cords).
