Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Operating Room Circulator Nurse to join our surgical team. The Circulating Nurse plays a crucial role in ensuring patient safety and comfort during surgical procedures by managing the operating room environment and coordinating the activities of the surgical team. The ideal candidate will have experience in perioperative nursing and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preoperative Preparation:
    • Review patient medical records and verify preoperative requirements.
    • Prepare the operating room environment, including equipment and supplies.
    • Ensure all necessary instruments and tools are available and in working order.
  • Intraoperative Support:
    • Serve as the liaison between the surgical team and other operating room personnel.
    • Assist with patient positioning and provide necessary support during the procedure.
    • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon and other team members and respond promptly.
  • Patient Safety and Comfort:
    • Monitor patient vital signs and anesthesia administration throughout the procedure.
    • Maintain a sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique protocols.
    • Address patient concerns and ensure their comfort and well-being during the surgery.
  • Documentation and Communication:
    • Accurately document intraoperative events, including medications administered and surgical counts.
    • Communicate with the surgical team regarding any changes in the patient's condition or surgical plan.
    • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Postoperative Care:
    • Assist with patient transfer to the recovery area and provide handoff report to post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) staff.
    • Participate in postoperative debriefing and review of the surgical procedure.
    • Ensure proper disposal of biohazardous waste and cleaning of the operating room.
  • Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program.
  • Current RN license in Florida
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in perioperative nursing, with specific experience as a circulating nurse.
  • Certification in perioperative nursing (CNOR) preferred.
  • Experience within orthopedic & spine, highly desired.



Shift: Full Time Monday-Friday

Compensation: Starting at $38/hr+depending on experience

Benefits:

In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment. If you become eligible and take action to enroll, you will be covered no earlier than 60 days into your assignment, depending on plan selection(s).
