Job description

Opthalmic Technician/Clinical Staff

Hiring: Medical Assistant's (MA), Patient Care Technicians (PCT), Optometric Technicians, and Surgical Technicians.

Locations hiring in: Monroeville, Cranberry, Bethel Park, Tridelphia, and Johnstown.

Overview:

  • Initiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaint, history of present illness, review of systems, past surgeries, all medications, and all pertinent ocular findings accurately in accordance with compliance guidelines.
  • Perform pre-exam testing to include visual acuity assessment, tonometry, pupillary dilation, and all other patient services as requested by the physician.
  • Setup for procedures including intravitreal injections which requires pulling drug, documenting in E.H.R. lot number, expiration date and other pertinent drug data.
  • Clean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processing.
  • Conduct inventory of instrument supply as directed.
  • Assist with maintenance of clinical exam equipment as directed.
  • Ordering of clinical supplies as directed.
  • Open and close exam and injection rooms
  • Assist in photography if trained to do so.
