Job description

Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Responsible for patient check in and workup
  • Serve as a backup on the receiving and inventorying of medications for all locations.
  • Perform tasks required to maintain OSHA compliance within the clinic (e.g., overseeing dating of supplies, performing autoclave sterilization tests, disposing of expired products, etc).
  • Order medications, clinical supplies and photography supplies as needed
  • Coordinate with pharmaceutical representatives for sample medication orders
  • Cross train to scribe

Ophthalmic Technician Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

  • High School diploma or Bachelor's Degree
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Medical Scribe (COS), or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) strongly preferred
  • Previous experience in a medical group practice environment preferred
  • Experience in clinical ophthalmology preferred
  • Understanding of medical terminology is required
  • Travel Required
  • Must have flexible hours (early mornings/late evenings)

Schedule/ Shift:

  • Varying hours from 7:45am-5p
