Ophthalmic Technician Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

Responsible for patient check in and workup
Serve as a backup on the receiving and inventorying of medications for all locations.
Perform tasks required to maintain OSHA compliance within the clinic (e.g., overseeing dating of supplies, performing autoclave sterilization tests, disposing of expired products, etc).
Order medications, clinical supplies and photography supplies as needed
Coordinate with pharmaceutical representatives for sample medication orders
Cross train to scribe

Ophthalmic Technician Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

High School diploma or Bachelor's Degree
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Medical Scribe (COS), or Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) strongly preferred
Previous experience in a medical group practice environment preferred
Experience in clinical ophthalmology preferred
Understanding of medical terminology is required
Travel Required
Must have flexible hours (early mornings/late evenings)
