Location: Nashville, TN
Pay: $20 - $25 per hour

Schedule/Shift:

  • Monday-Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Ophthalmic Tech to join our eye clinic in Nashville, TN. As an Ophthalmic Tech, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and supporting our ophthalmologists.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct patient intake by accurately recording symptoms, medical history, and other relevant information.
  • Perform preliminary eye exams and tests, including visual acuities, autorefractor and lensometer use, tonometry, and refraction.
  • Clean, maintain, and operate ophthalmic equipment, such as OCT, fundus camera, IOL master, Pentacam topographer, and Humphrey automated visual field.
  • Support ophthalmologists during eye surgeries and procedures.
  • Administer medications and topical treatments as prescribed.
  • Instruct patients on the care and use of corrective lenses.
  • Prepare for in-office procedures (injections, laser treatments, lesion removal) as needed.
  • Handle administrative tasks including opening/closing the clinic, addressing patient messages, and managing supplies and equipment sterilization.
  • Use electronic medical records (EMR)

Qualifications:

  • Required:

    • 1+ years of experience as an Ophthalmic Tech.
    • BLS Certification.
    • Completion of an accredited training program for Ophthalmic Tech.
    • High School Diploma.
  • Preferred:

    • Certified Ophthalmic Tech or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
    • Experience with preparation for in-office procedures.
    • Familiarity with ophthalmic equipment (Zeiss OCT, Zeiss fundus camera, Zeiss IOL master, Pentacam topographer, Humphrey automated visual field).
