Job description

Medix is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician/Medical Assistant to support a speciality Ophthalmology practice in Bethel Park. PA. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to grow and gain specialized training in the industry!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Initiate patient evaluation, documenting the chief complaints, patient history, review symptoms, and documentating medical history

  • Perform pre-exam testing and all other patient services as requested by the physician.

  • Setup for procedures including intravitreal injections which requires pulling drug, documenting
    in E.H.R. lot number, expiration date and other pertinent drug data.

  • Clean surgical instruments in preparation for sterile processing.

  • Conduct inventory of instrument supply as directed.

  • Assist with maintenance of clinical exam equipment as directed.

  • Open and close exam and injection rooms

Job Requirements:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills as well as neat and professional appearance are mandatory.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent typing skills and previous electronic health record experience such as EPIC, Nextgen, etc.
  • Previous medical office clinical experience and previous ophthalmology experience preferred but not required

Monday - Friday

8am-5pm
