Job description

Medix is seeking an Oncology RN for a local contract to hire position in Arlington Heights, IL. A great opportunity to work with a network of independent physicians who provide integrated cancer care and serve as leaders in value based care.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

  • Coordinate and promote continuity of care by assessing patient health status, recording nursing assessments, and reporting findings to providers.
  • Provide patient and family education, psychosocial support, and ensure patient confidentiality throughout treatment.
  • Prepare and administer therapies, medications, and blood products, obtaining necessary pre-authorizations and following safety protocols, including venipuncture and central line maintenance.
  • Support clinical operations by managing patient flow, coordinating appointments, facilitating communication, and handling medication refills and triage calls.
  • Mentor and guide less experienced staff, participate in professional development, and collaborate on interdisciplinary teams and clinical research initiatives.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Graduate from an accredited program for professional nursing education, BSN preferred.
  • RN state license and current registration with the State Board of Nursing in Illinois
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • 3-5 years nursing experience including at least one year in oncology preferred.
  • Oncology certification preferred

Schedule/ Shift:

  • M-F 8:30a-5p
