Job description

Medix is now hiring a Part Time OR Full Time Oncology RN in East LA!

Requirements:

  • CA RN License
  • CPR Certification
  • 1-2 years oncology nursing experience
  • Oncology Nursing Certification (OCN) preferred but not required.

Schedule:

  • Part Time: Tues/Thurs and possibly an additional clinical day (8:30am-5pm)
  • Full Time: Mon-Fri (8:30am-5pm)
  • Setting: Outpatient Clinic

Overview:

  • Assessing and monitoring patients' physical and emotional well-being, including vital signs, symptoms, and treatment side effects
  • Administering chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and other cancer-related treatments as prescribed by the physicians
  • Educating patients and their families about their diagnosis, treatment options, and self-care techniques
  • Providing supportive care, including symptom management, pain control, and emotional support
  • Collaborating with physicians, pharmacy technicians, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Performing procedures such as accessing central lines, administering blood products, and managing intravenous therapies
  • Documenting patient information, treatment plans, and progress in electronic health records accurately and timely
  • Assisting in clinical research studies and collecting data for research purposes
