Job description

Position Summary:

  • The Oncology Nurse Navigator (ONN) plays an important role in delivering patient care that meets the needs of our community and region.
  • This position provides coordination for high quality, patient-centered care through effective leadership of the interprofessional cancer care team.
  • Provides education and resources to facilitate informed decision-making and timely access to quality health and psychosocial care throughout all phases of the cancer care continuum.
  • Coordinates with Infusion team to assure protocols and order sets are current to provide optimal, evidence-based care for oncology patients.

  • Monday-Friday 8-4:30, flexible
Education and/or Experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing with an Associate Degree or higher required. BSN greatly preferred.
  • Current Minnesota RN license. BLS, ACLS required. OCN certification (oncology certified nurse) required or willing to obtain within two years.
  • Minimum of two years' experience as oncology nurse preferred. Equivalent experience in other specialty area will be considered.
  • Competence in and clinical knowledge of specialty care services, and proficient, resource-based coordination of services.
  • Patient navigation/coordination experience greatly desired.
