Job description

Medix is now hiring an Office Administrative Assistant for a Non-Profit Mental Health Facility in the Boyle Heights area (90023)!

Requirements:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • 1-2 years front desk experience
  • Front Desk experience in a mental/behavioral health facility HIGHLY desired

Duties:

  • Perform clerical duties such as filing and maintaining office supplies.
  • Type and word-process documents accurately and promptly.
  • Translate therapy sessions, meetings, and phone calls for staff.
  • File progress notes promptly and accurately.
  • Maintain minutes of meetings and assist with monthly MediCal eligibility.
  • Photocopy and distribute materials efficiently.
  • Answer phones, take messages, and use good judgment (e.g., when to page).
  • Compose and edit correspondence, ensuring correct grammar, punctuation, and spelling.
  • Exercise good judgment regarding information sharing, asking appropriate questions to gather necessary information.
  • Maintain current copies of needed forms.
  • Assist the Office Manager and Administrative Secretary with front office responsibilities as needed.
  • File and upload all client documentation into the EHR system.
  • Respond appropriately to stressful or emergency situations.
  • Maintain professional relationships with co-workers and patients.
  • Analyze pertinent facts to arrive at sound conclusions.
  • Work independently and seek additional tasks during slow times.
  • Display a positive attitude to patients, visitors, and hospital personnel.
  • Pursue learning opportunities to improve knowledge and skills.
  • Communicate accurate written and oral messages while maintaining confidentiality of information.
