Job description

Job Posting: RN - Occupational Health Coordinator

Location: Fort Wayne, Indiana 46804

Position Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health Coordinator with a strong background in occupational health to support and enhance the health and wellness of our team members. Reporting directly to the Occupational Health Director, the ideal candidate will hold an active RN license and bring expertise in clinical and occupational health nursing. This full-time day shift role (Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.) does not require weekend work, though occasional on-call support is needed for Division-level consultation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite medical support, guidance, and expertise to Division-level nurses, promoting health and safety initiatives.
  • Perform audits and compliance checks at occupational health sites to ensure program adherence.
  • Work closely with the Occupational Health Director to develop and execute policies, procedures, and wellness programs that support the nursing staff and employee population.
  • Oversee medical training and surveillance programs, including hearing conservation and bloodborne pathogen training.
  • Ensure OSHA log recordkeeping requirements are met, and assist in compliance with regulatory standards (ADA, OSHA, FMLA, Workers' Compensation).
  • Actively support wellness and safety programs, helping to recognize and mitigate workplace hazards.
  • Maintain professional memberships to stay current on trends, best practices, and compliance requirements.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel approximately 2-3 times per month to other occupational health sites. All travel expenses-including mileage, hotel accommodations, rental car, and food-will be fully reimbursed.

Required:

  • Active RN license.
  • 1+ years of occupational health experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or related setting.
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and phlebotomy proficiency.
  • Knowledge of regulatory areas such as ADA, OSHA, FMLA, and Workers' Compensation.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Preferred:
  • CPR/AED certification (Instructor certification a plus).
  • Health coaching or certification in occupational health.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse designation.
