Job description

Join a dynamic and patient-focused team providing exceptional women's health care in Tulsa, OK. This position is for a Medical Assistant (MA) in the float pool, supporting a busy obstetrics and gynecology clinic with seven physicians. The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Rooming patients, taking vitals, documenting chief complaints, and gathering medical history.
  • Cleaning and stocking exam rooms, handling urine specimens, and autoclaving instruments.
  • Assisting providers during exams, including with undressed patients.
  • Learning and adapting to the unique preferences and processes of seven physicians.
  • Engaging with providers and team members to understand the "why" behind procedures.

Key Metrics:

  • Patient volume: Each physician sees 28-32 patients daily.
  • Patient demographics: Ages range from 12 to 90 years old.

EMR System: Athena

Must-Haves:

  • Relevant experience in high-volume settings like urology, primary care, internal medicine, or pediatrics.
  • Strong communication skills with the confidence to ask questions and seek clarity.
  • Professional appearance (no visible tattoos, gauges, or prominent piercings).
  • Ability to engage with patients and team members in a professional, bubbly, and adaptable manner.

Nice-to-Haves:

  • MA certification or BLS certification.
  • Spanish-speaking ability to serve a diverse patient population.
  • 2+ years of experience in pediatrics, family medicine, or endocrinology.

Work Details:

  • Location: Tulsa, OK 74104
  • Hours:
    • Mon-Thurs: 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
    • Fri: 8:30 AM - 3:00 PM
    • Lunch: On-the-fly; 40-hour workweek.
  • Pay: $17 - $19.00/hour (higher pay considered for extensive experience).
  • Dress Code: Solid scrubs with a black jacket (no sweatshirts or hoodies).

Growth Opportunities:

  • Float pool staff are often promoted to primary nurse roles.
