Job description

Job Summary:

The On-Site Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) will provide comprehensive healthcare services to employees, focusing on occupational health, injury management, and preventive care. This role will involve assessing, diagnosing, treating, and managing common workplace injuries and illnesses while promoting a safe and healthy working environment. The NP or PA will also work closely with safety teams to develop health programs, educate staff on wellness and safety, and ensure compliance with occupational health regulations.


Pay: $65.00-$75.00/hr
Shift: Mon-Fri (8am-5pm), 60min lunch
Type: Contract to Hire

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide medical assessments, diagnosis, and treatment for work-related injuries, illnesses, and conditions.

  • Conduct routine health screenings, physicals, and wellness checks for winery employees.
  • Provide first aid and acute care for minor injuries and illnesses.
  • Manage follow-up care and rehabilitation for workplace injuries, ensuring appropriate documentation and treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications within the scope of practice and collaborate with physicians or specialists for ongoing care when necessary.
  • Collaborate with safety teams to assess workplace health risks and implement strategies to mitigate potential hazards.
  • Monitor employees for potential health issues related to the winery's specific environment (e.g., heat stress, musculoskeletal injuries, exposure to chemicals).
  • Develop and lead occupational health programs, including injury prevention, wellness initiatives, and ergonomic assessments.
  • Provide guidance on proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe work practices to minimize health risks.
  • Educate employees on preventive healthcare practices, healthy lifestyle choices, and injury prevention.
  • Provide training on common workplace health issues, such as ergonomics, lifting techniques, and managing heat stress.
  • Develop health promotion materials, newsletters, and presentations for employees to promote well-being.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, including injury reporting and workplace safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate medical records for all patient interactions, injuries, treatments, and follow-ups in accordance with privacy regulations (e.g., HIPAA).
  • Prepare reports on workplace health trends and outcomes, and work with management to implement improvements.
  • Monitor and ensure that necessary health and safety certifications, records, and employee medical exams are up-to-date.
  • Provide immediate response to workplace emergencies and coordinate care as needed.
  • Develop and review emergency response protocols for common workplace incidents (e.g., accidents, heat stroke, chemical exposure).
  • Serve as a health advisor for management, offering recommendations on workplace improvements to enhance employee health and safety.

Education & Certification:

  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).
  • Licensed to practice in the state of CA.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Occupational health, urgent care, primary care, or family practice experience highly preferred
