Job Posting: Nurse Practitioner


Position: Nurse Practitioner
Hours: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM
Location: Bethesda, Maryland 20817
Pay: $140,000 - $150,000 annually

Position Summary:
Assist physicians in the care and teaching of patients.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Assess the physical and psychosocial status of patients through interviews, health histories, physical examinations, and diagnostic studies.
  • Write prescriptions for medications, blood products, routine diagnostic and follow-up studies, therapeutic measures, and post-discharge care in accordance with practice protocols.
  • Determine patient eligibility for entry into clinical trials based on findings.
  • Interpret and evaluate findings from studies/tests.
  • Relay appropriate patient care information to the collaborating physician.
  • Administer therapeutic measures and obtain specimens as prescribed.
  • Dictate follow-up letters to referring physicians summarizing treatment, response, and plans.
  • Document patient histories, admissions, progress notes, and discharge notes promptly.
  • Assist in managing family dynamics and coping mechanisms during acute and chronic phases of patient care.
  • Participate in daily multi-disciplinary rounds for assigned patients to ensure quality care.
  • Provide on-call coverage and perform hospital rounds as needed.
  • Triage patients to determine the urgency of physician evaluation.
  • Accurately document and report care using appropriate forms and records.
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn and remain flexible in the changing healthcare environment.
  • Assist staff in times of crisis or emergency.
  • Meet with the public to efficiently market and promote cancer treatment.
  • Determine work priorities, assign tasks, and ensure proper completion of assignments.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all patient and employee information as required by HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist in training new employees on related job duties.
  • Work at any company location as directed by the collaborating physician to meet business needs.
