Job description

Position: Registered Nurse (RN) - Obesity Reversal Program (Compact Nursing State)

Location: Remote (Compact Nursing State Required) (We are unable to hire from the following states: Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, Mississippi, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Puerto Rico, South Dakota, Vermont or Wisconsin)

About Medix:
Medix is a leading healthcare provider focused on diabetes and obesity reversal, offering an innovative, nutrition-based approach. We are launching a new service to help patients achieve their weight loss goals through the Medix method and GLP-1 agonist medications. We are seeking experienced and motivated RNs to join us in pioneering this exciting program.

Role Overview:
We are looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) residing in a Nursing Licensure Compact state to collaborate with our physicians and nurse practitioners in managing this weight loss service. This is a unique opportunity to be part of an innovative team, providing high-quality care and support to patients on their obesity reversal journey. If you have experience in diabetes and obesity care, and a passion for problem-solving in a tech-enabled healthcare setting, we encourage you to apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage prescription panels for patients in collaboration with Medix medical providers.
  • Educate patients on Medix's treatment, preparing them for their nutritional and behavioral journey towards weight loss success.
  • Use motivational interviewing techniques to guide patients through their weight management journey.
  • Provide support for patients on both nutritional and medication aspects of their obesity reversal, while promoting Medix's nutrition-first approach.
  • Collaborate with clinical and technology teams to refine and build out this new service line.
  • Embrace a Minimal Viable Product (MVP) approach in program development.
  • Provide clinical support for physicians and nurse practitioners, including panel management, triage calls, medication entry, and diabetes education.
  • Conduct 20-minute clinical intake visits via video or phone, documenting clinical histories and medications, and identifying concerning health issues for provider review.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with diabetes or obesity patients in a clinical setting.
  • Expertise in diabetes care, education, prevention, and low-carbohydrate nutrition.
  • Training and experience in motivational interviewing techniques.
  • Active RN license with at least 3 years of clinical experience treating type 2 diabetes patients (CDE/CDCES preferred).
  • At least 1 year of experience working with GLP-1 agonists.
  • Must reside and be licensed in a Nursing Licensure Compact state.
  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Willingness to travel 2-3 times per year for team and company events.
  • Excellent bedside manner with strong communication skills, able to empower and support patients remotely.
  • A strong team player, committed to improving the clinical team and patient outcomes at Medix.
