Job description

Mental Health Addiction Counselor (LAC,LMAC,LCAC)

Counselor Overview:

Under the supervision of the Clinical Director the Counselors are responsible for the programs and services provided to the program participants served by Treatment Center.

Counselors shall operate in accordance with the policies and procedures and as implemented by his/her supervisor(s). Counselors shall abide by all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.

The duties of this position include curricula development and implementation, psychoeducational presentations, individual counseling, group counseling, case management activities and all related requirements for documentation.



Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Provide group, individual and family counseling for clients.
  2. Conduct thorough bio-psycho-social assessments with clients to evaluate overall functioning,

health and substance use concerns

  1. Collaborate with clients to develop meaningful treatment plans with clear goals and objectives
  2. Maintain treatment related documentation such as treatment plans, evaluations, discharge

summaries and program evaluation forms, within our electronic client record

  1. Complete all required documentation within established timeframes
  2. In collaboration with clients, develop aftercare plans to provide ongoing support of the client's

goals for recovery

  1. Attend and participate in all staff meetings
  2. Assist immediate supervisors with coverage related issues when necessary
  3. Perform other job responsibilities as assigned by their immediate supervisors.



Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 1-year counseling experience in both group/individual counseling in either a residential

and/or outpatient clinical setting

  1. Hold an active license in good standing as a substance abuse counselor in the State of Kansas.

Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC), Licensed Master Addiction Counselor (LMAC) or Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) required.

  1. Excellent interpersonal skills required as well as ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  2. Ability to work cooperatively with others in a team environment
  3. Must be adaptable to change.
  4. Must be able to organize and follow through on multiple tasks.
  5. Knowledge of the disease of addiction and the various modes of treatment.

Job Types: Full-time

Work Location/Schedule: Onsite M-F. 8-5
