Job Description:

The role of the Medical Scribe is to assist the assigned physician in the completion of patient care data in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. The Medical Scribe (MS) shadows the Medical Doctor (MD) throughout the patient clinic visits and assists in data collection and entry.

Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

• Accompany the physician into the patient examination room to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician's encounter with the patient and others present.
• List all proper diagnoses and symptoms, follow-up visits and instructions, and prepare nonopioid prescriptions as dictated by the physician.
• Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
• Document any procedures performed by the physician.
• Prepare and organize data for new patients and established patients' visit prior to the patient encounter.
• To scribe for the APPs covering the MD as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

• 6 months of scribe experience
• Open to both virtual and onsite experience, prefers onsite
• High school diploma

Schedule/ Shift: M-F 8AM - 5PM
