Job description

We are looking for an individual with HCC Risk Adjustment Experience.

Location - Remote

Salary - $43,000-$49,000 annually based on experience

Contract role with the opportunity to get hired on permanently.

Shift - Monday-Friday: 9 AM - 5PM EST

Job Responsibilities

The Medical Coding Specialist ensures technical aspects of diagnostic and procedure coding is in compliance with CMS, NCQA, third party payers and other regulatory agencies. As a Medical Coding Specialist you will:

  • Monitor assigned provider's documentation and coding
  • Educate assigned providers on CMS, AMA and Medical Group documentation and coding guidelines
  • Educate assigned ongoing education of ICD-10-CM to the providers
  • Perform provider queries and addendum requests based on CMA, AMA and Medical Group documentation and coding guidelines

Requirements:

  • High School diploma
  • Active Certified Professional Coder (CPC) and Certified Risk Adjustment Coder (CRC)
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience assigning ICD-10 CM, CPT and HCPC's
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with NCCI edits
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Self-audit of work and awareness of coding impact on revenue cycle
