Medical Records Clerk (8-Week Contract) - Kalamazoo, MI

Job description

We are hiring Medical Record Clerks to support a major hospital network with tasks such as scanning, imaging, and retrieving medical records for an 8-week contract that has the potential for extension.

Address: Kalamazoo, MI

Target Start Date: Monday, July 1st

Duration: This is a contract position expected to last at least 8 weeks, but there's high potential for the contract to get extended due to scope of work.

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am-4:30pm

Pay Rate: $18-21/hour, dependent on experience

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for scanning and imaging documents.
  • Assisting with DNFB/DNFC (Discharged Not Final Billed/Discharged Not Final Coded) tasks.
  • Retrieving documents as needed.
  • Reconciling accounts.
  • Maintaining registries (non-patient facing, e.g., death, trauma, etc.).
  • Indexing documents for easy retrieval and organization.

Must Have Skills/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of recent administrative-related experience. Prior experience within a healthcare administrative role is preferred, but not required.
  • Demonstrated technical proficiency (comfortable using computers, scanning machines, and navigating between multiple applications).
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Strong attention to detail and a proven track record of a strong work ethic.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated history of achieving goals in the workplace.
