Job description

A healthcare clinic in Portland, OR is looking for a Medical Records Clerk to join their team.
Responsible for preparing and maintaining patient medical records in a timely and
accurate manner, using an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system. Retrieve records and
release information to patients, physicians, and staff as requested.


Overview of Responsibilities:
● Prepare, scan, categorize, and verify scanned medical documentation into the
patients' Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
● Coordinate and process all medical record releases and patient record transfers,
including requests from DHS, attorneys, and SSI.
● Scan, file, and destroy paper charts in accordance with the destruction policy.
● Adhere to processing requirements for time-sensitive materials and requests.
● Provide administrative support by processing incoming mail and completing print
jobs.
● Interact with internal and external customers in a positive and professional manner.
● Answer phones in a courteous and professional manner as needed.
● Collaborate effectively with team members to accomplish tasks.
● Participate actively in team huddles and meetings.
● Maintain an organized workspace within a shared environment.
● Ensure confidentiality of sensitive patient information at all times.
● Work in a fast-paced, changing environment with strong time management,
multitasking, and prioritization skills.
● Display punctual, regular, and dependable attendance.


Required Skills/Qualifications:
● Minimum 1 year of experience in EPIC HIS/HIM/Medical Records.
● High School Education or GED equivalent.
● General knowledge of clinic workflows, healthcare, and medical terminology.
● Technologically capable (as per technical qualifications outlined below).


Preferred (Nice to Have) Skills:
● Experience with OnBase (Highly Preferred).
● Proficient in working with PDF documents.
● RHIT Certification or preparation to test for certification.
● Associate's Degree.

● Strong sense of urgency and follow-through.
● Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a team.
● Exceptional attention to detail.
● Comfortable with technology and adapting to new systems.


Schedule/Shift:
● Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:30PM PST (30 minute lunch)
● On-site 100% of time


Contract Length:
640 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of
contract.


Pay:
$17.12 - $22.00 (Dependent on experience)
