Medical Office Specialist

Job description

  • Will be trained in 3 areas: Check-in, rooming, check-out - Will rotate which function they are responsible for on a weekly basis (**Selling point, they are cross trained & get to be patient-facing!)
  • Check-in duties: Smiling & greeting patients with a positive attitude, collect demographics, completion of visit paperwork, obtain insurance, set expectations around wait time
  • Rooming duties: They are not performing any DPC, strictly doing vitals (Height, weight, blood pressure), and intake questions (medical history, medication history, etc.) --> This is very "scripted," will have a document to follow of questions to ask when rooming
  • Check-out duties: Physician or APP will walk with patient to check-out station, go over the encounter sheet and chat through what's needed for next steps: Scheduling follow up appointment, ordering of tests, coordinating any referrals to specialists, etc.
  • EMR= NextGen, willing to train on this
  • Can expect 30-40 patients/day, this is high volume --> Must be comfortable in a fast paced setting
  • Looking for 1 year of experience in a medical office setting, open to training people with good CSR skills but good tenure is required -- Absolutely no job hoppiness will be considered
