Location: Columbia, Maryland 21045
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Medical Front Desk Representative to join our team. This role is responsible for handling various administrative and compliance-related tasks in a medical office setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient scheduling, insurance verification, charge entry, and front desk operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day office functions while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients, answer phone calls, and provide excellent customer service.
  • Register patients by accurately collecting and updating demographic and insurance information.
  • Verify insurance eligibility, obtain authorizations, and handle charge entry.
  • Schedule patient appointments efficiently while coordinating with providers.
  • Maintain patient records, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and office policies.
  • Assist with clerical tasks, including filing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Handle billing inquiries, process payments, and provide financial information to patients.
  • Collaborate with medical staff to ensure smooth patient flow and office operations.
  • Perform other administrative duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years in a medical office or healthcare setting.
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional coursework in medical administration is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in EHR/EMR systems, medical billing software, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance verification, HIPAA compliance, and medical terminology.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent communication, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to maintain accuracy in data entry and patient records.

Compensation: $18-20 hourly (based on experience)

Hours: 40 hours/week - Mon-Fri with 1 Sunday a month

Location: Columbia, MD 21045

Start Date: ASAP

Benefits: In order to be eligible for health benefits, you must be employed for 30 days and must average 30 hours per week over your first four weeks on assignment.
