Job description

Medix is seeking a friendly and organized Medical Front Desk Associate for a doctors office in the Prairie Village, KS 66207 area!

Responsibilities:

  • Greet patients and their families warmly, providing assistance and ensuring a positive first impression.
  • Manage appointment bookings, confirmations, and cancellations efficiently using our electronic health record (EHR) system.
  • Collect and verify patient insurance information, explaining benefits and coverage details to families clearly.
  • Facilitate the check-in and check-out process, ensuring all necessary documentation is completed and patient files are updated accurately.
  • Handle phone calls, answer inquiries, and direct patients to appropriate staff members as needed.
  • Maintain patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Assist patients with billing questions, payment processing, and financial policy explanations.
  • Work closely with medical staff to coordinate patient flow and support overall office operations.

Must Have skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in a front desk or administrative role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient interactions.
  • Proficiency in computer systems and EHR software
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule/ Shift:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8a-4p
