Job description

We are currently seeking a Medical Front Desk for a Specialized Ophthalmology Practice in Warrendale, PA!

  • Job Posting: Medical Front Desk/Patient Care Representative
  • Location: Warrendale, PA (with occasional travel to two nearby offices)
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 hours per day (40 hours per week), with start times between 7:00 AM and 7:30 AM
  • Pay: Up to $17/hour

Overview:
We are looking for a dedicated and personable Patient Care Representative to join our team in Warrendale, PA. In this role, you will be pivotal in ensuring a seamless patient experience, managing a variety of administrative tasks, and maintaining the smooth operation of our office. This position requires occasional travel to our two closest offices, as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Interaction: Greet patients as they arrive, answer phones, check patients in and out, gather demographic and insurance information, and schedule appointments.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the reception and front office areas, operate multi-line phone systems, and manage daily appointment schedules.
  • Documentation & Data Entry: Enter and update patient demographic and insurance information, conduct insurance verification, scan documents into practice management and EMR systems, and collect and record patient payments, including co-pays.
  • Financial Management:Process and balance daily collections, prepare and make bank deposits, and manage individual monies and daily deposit slips.
  • Appointment Management: Schedule and reschedule appointments, confirm and move patient appointments, and process patient recall notices.
  • Insurance & Authorizations: Obtain vision authorizations or eligibility and utilize resources like insurance representatives and websites.
  • Additional Duties: Conduct administrative tasks such as filing, typing, printing, photocopying, scanning, and act as a liaison between physicians and patients when necessary.

Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to operate multi-line telephone systems and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Experience with patient care, insurance verification, and administrative tasks preferred.
- Ability to travel to different office locations as needed.
