Job description

**Responsibilities/Duties:**

- Welcome and assist all patients and office visitors.
- Manage the check-in and check-out process for scheduled patients.
- Enter and verify patient demographic and insurance details.
- Explain insurance coverage, including in-network and out-of-network benefits, to patients.
- Ensure all necessary paperwork is completed and filed (e.g., insurance forms, referrals, authorizations, waivers, specialist packets).
- Review and obtain patient or responsible party signatures on registration and billing documents.
- Obtain or generate electronic medical record numbers and input them into the PM system.
- Direct patients to radiology based on appointment notes provided by the medical assistant.
- Address patient balances at the time of service and establish payment plans as needed.
- Collect and record patient payments.
- Schedule and manage appointments.
- Document any cancellations or rescheduled appointments.
- Adhere to the Patient No-Show/Cancellation Policy.
- Review and update patient eligibility information.
- Print and verify the end-of-day review.
- Submit daily payment collection reports.
- Reconcile daily receipts with the TOS report.
- Process and review patient disability forms and medical records requests for accuracy, informing patients of processing times.
- Release medical records to patients upon request.
- Enter charges and payments related to medical record requests handled directly by our office.
- Accept lab results from external facilities, date stamp them, and forward to clinical staff.
- Sign for all incoming deliveries (e.g., FedEx, USPS, Airborne Express).
- Open and close the office before and after business hours.
- Assist patients and family members with various requests.
- Maintain a professional work environment by interacting courteously with patients, physicians, co-workers, and administration.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by the office manager.
