Job description

Job Title: Medical Collector

Job Overview:

We are hiring a Medical Collector to optimize revenue cycles for our healthcare system. This role involves investigating and resolving insurance claim issues, communicating with government and commercial payers, and ensuring timely reimbursements for hospitals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Investigate and rectify errors on CMS 1500 claims, ensuring accurate submissions.

- Communicate effectively with payers to resolve claim discrepancies and secure timely payments.

- Reconcile payments, identify underpayments, and pursue corrective actions.

- Maintain organized documentation and generate reports on claim status and denials.

- Stay updated on healthcare insurance regulations and ensure compliance.

- Provide exceptional customer service to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications:

- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications a plus.

- Prior experience in insurance follow-up or medical collections within a healthcare setting.

- Epic experience preferred

- Experience with Government and Commercial Payers

- Experience with the CMS 1500 claim form

- Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Pay range: $19-$24/hr
