Job description

Medical Billing Follow-Up Specialist
Locations: Cherry Hill & Pennsauken, NJ

We are actively seeking dedicated and skilled Medical Billing and Follow-Up Specialists to join our teams in Cherry Hill and Pennsauken, NJ. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare billing environment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Resolve billing discrepancies and denials/rejections promptly and efficiently.
  • Analyze and understand Explanation of Benefits (EOB) or Remittance Advice (ERA) received from insurance carriers and take appropriate action based on company guidelines and client processes.
  • Follow up with insurance companies via phone calls or payer portals on denials/payments.
  • Identify trends and research payer policies/guidelines to provide insights to the management team.
  • Correct and resubmit claims as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and data entry for all billing activities.
  • Monitor accounts receivable follow-up work queues and reports.

  • Must-Have Skills & Qualifications:
  • Minimum 1 year of medical billing follow-up experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of claim forms for Hospital / Physician Billing.
  • Familiarity with various insurance carriers and their online portals.
  • Strong understanding of medical terminology, including CPT and ICD-10 codes.
  • Ability to meet productivity goals and deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and research abilities.

Schedule:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
