Join Our Specialized Ophthalmology Practice!

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Medical Billing Specialist to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing various aspects of medical billing and ensuring seamless operations within our practice.

  • Title: Medical Billing Specialist
  • Location: Monroeville, PA
  • Position: Full-Time (Day Shift, Monday-Friday, 40 hours/week)
  • Salary: $19.00 - $24.00 per hour (based on qualifications and experience)

Key Responsibilities:

- Secure prior authorizations for injectable medications

- Verify insurance eligibility prior to patient visits

- Post electronic payments, credit card payments, and cash payments

- Accurately post charges in our electronic practice management system

- Address and resolve claim denials

- Handle collections through the Medicaid portal

- Collaborate with specialty pharmacies to coordinate injectable medications

- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve any payer issues

- Answer patient inquiries regarding invoices

- Conduct internal audits comparing encounter forms to medical records in NextGen

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in medical billing, preferably within a private medical practice

- Familiarity with practice management software for posting charges and payments

- Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service skills

- Proficient verbal and written communication skills

- Good understanding of computer software

- Proficient typing skills

- NextGen experience is a plus, but not required
