Job description

We are seeking an experienced Medical Biller to join our team in Monroeville, PA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, with specific expertise in claim submission, ICD and HCPCS codes, and chart review. While proficiency in all areas is not required, familiarity with a range of billing responsibilities is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Post charges accurately in the electronic practice management system.
  • Process electronic payments, credit card payments, and cash payments in patient accounts.
  • Resolve denials and resubmit claims as necessary.
  • Verify insurance eligibility prior to patient visits.
  • Obtain prior authorizations for injectable medications through various payer portals.
  • Coordinate with specialty pharmacies to procure medications covered under patients' insurance plans.
  • Submit requests for foundation payments and ensure accurate posting of received payments.
  • Communicate with insurance companies to address and resolve payer issues.
  • Assist patients with inquiries regarding invoices.
  • Conduct internal audits to ensure accuracy between encounter forms and medical records in Nextgen.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in medical billing, preferably within a private medical practice.
  • Familiarity with practice management software for posting charges and payments.
  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient typing skills and computer literacy.
  • Ability to provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Nextgen software is preferred but not required.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in physician office billing.
  • Prior knowledge of Medicaid billing procedures.

Schedule:

  • Start time at 7:30 am; schedule varies with occasional days ending at 5 pm due to insurance processing times.
Position Type: Full-time, On-site
