Job Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist with strong expertise in NextGen software for a short-term contract role. The primary focus of this contract will be reviewing, voiding, following up on, and processing over claims related to Retrospective Billing for FQHC locations. The role will require attention to detail and the ability to work independently to ensure timely and accurate claims processing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and identify duplicated claims in the NextGen system.
• Void, follow up on, and process claims for payment in a timely manner.
• Perform retrospective billing for FQHC (Federally Qualified Health Centers) locations.
• Coordinate with internal teams to ensure claims are submitted and follow-up actions are performed.
• Provide updates and status reports on claims to management.
• Adhere to established timelines for claim processing and resolution.
• Maintain accurate records of claims processed and communicate any issues to the team.
• Must be able to report on-site for the first 1-2 weeks (training period), and then transition to fully remote work.

Requirements:

• 1-2 years of relevant experience with NextGen Medical Billing and Accounts Receivable (AR).
• Prior experience in medical billing and claim management, with a solid understanding of retrospective billing processes.
• Ability to independently manage workload and prioritize tasks.
• Must have the ability to troubleshoot claim issues and work with other departments to resolve problems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills for follow-ups and reporting.
• Must reside in Arizona and be available for video calls at short notice.
• Self-starter who can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Must have access to personal equipment (computer, internet, etc.).

Preferred:

• Previous successful experience working in a remote environment.
• Knowledge of FQHC billing processes is a plus.

Schedule/ Shift:

• Monday-Friday 8am-4:30pm
