Medical Billing/Collections Specialist

French Camp, CA

A large hospital facility in French Camp, CA is looking for a Medical Billing/Collections Specialist to join their team.

Communicates with patients, government agencies and third-party payers to gather, process and record information to receive appropriate reimbursement. Communicates with departments for charge information, coding updates, and other information for claim appeals. Completes billing and collection processes and prepares for distribution to appropriate sources. Reviews unpaid claims and obtains necessary information to resolve reimbursements. Works on routine assignments within defined parameters, established guidelines and precedents. Follows established procedures and receives daily instructions on work.

Overview of Responsibilities:

• Reviews, corrects, and submits claims to payers. Applies developing/basic working knowledge and experience to the job.
• Reviews unpaid accounts, initiates correct actions to collect the accounts, and follows up on action to assure expected results are achieved.
• Meets or exceeds productivity and quality performance expectations. ● Reviews unpaid accounts and initiates collection action for past due and denied claims. Calculates write-offs and debit/credit adjustments.
• Provides general office support as needed.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent
• Medical billing and collections experience in hospital setting

Additional Skills:

• Cerner experience
• Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience

Schedule/Shift:

• Monday-Friday 7:00 AM-5:30 PM or 8:00 AM-6:30 PM
• On site

Contract Length:

800 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$22 - $25 (Dependant on experience)
