Medical Biller

Everett, WA

A comprehensive health center in Everett, WA is looking for a Medical Biller to join their team.

Overview of Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for all phases of billing and account follow-up to ensure thorough and consistent resolution.
  • Resolves insurance claim rejections, denials, and non-payment issues.
  • Identifies trends in billing and follow-up to expedite resolution of insurance accounts and address delays.
  • Drafts appeals to insurance companies for reimbursement of owed payments.
  • Maintains daily account follow-up work lists while meeting productivity standards.
  • Ensures compliance with payer contracts and policies, processing claims accordingly.
  • Identifies, researches, and resolves credit balances, missing payments, payer recoupments, and unposted cash.
  • Processes and maintains correspondence from patients and insurance companies regarding claims and payments.
  • Submits issues to coding for review and ensures adherence to revenue cycle processes.
  • Communicates appropriately with insurance companies, patients, co-workers, and supervisors.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in a Billing or Insurance Account Follow-Up capacity.
  • Medical terminology experience.
  • Knowledge of insurance processes, billing guidelines, and regulations.
  • Experience with Medicare & Medicaid.

Additional Skills:

  • FQHC experience.
  • Coding experience/knowledge.
  • NextGen experience.
  • Medical Billing Certificate or Certified Revenue Cycle Representative.
  • Formal training or college coursework in medical billing from an accredited school in lieu of experience.

Schedule/Shift:

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
  • First month of training will be in person and on-site.
  • Hybrid schedule available after the first month.

Contract Length:

620 Hours. Opportunity to convert to permanent hire after satisfactory completion of contract.

Pay:

$24.96 - $29.96 (Dependant on experience)
