Responsibilities/ Job Duties:

• Prepare and submit professional claims, ensuring all required information is accurate and complete.
• Perform eligibility checks for patients, ensuring they have the correct insurance coverage prior to service delivery.
• Verify patient demographics, insurance coverage, and other relevant information to ensure claims can be processed accurately.
• Handle a limited number of patient inquiries, primarily related to insurance verification and billing questions.
• Perform general filing, sorting, and administrative duties as needed to support the billing department.
• Assist with accounts receivable (AR) tasks, including posting payments and managing payment discrepancies.

Minimum Education and Experience Qualification Requirements:

• Prior experience in the front-end of a healthcare clinic, specifically in claims preparation and insurance verification.
• Hands-on experience with payment posting and understanding of how payments apply to patient accounts.
• Familiarity with different types of insurance, particularly Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Commercial insurance.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate verification of patient demographics and insurance information.
• Experience with filing, sorting, and organizing documents within a fast-paced office environment.

Schedule/ Shift: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
