Job description

Job Summary:

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our healthcare team for a 4 - 6 week project. The primary responsibility of the Medical Biller will be on submitting a backlog of several thousand (split) claims, and resolving billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills, a solid understanding of medical terminology and coding, and proficiency in medical billing software.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and submit accurate claims to insurance companies and other payers
  • Review and verify patient billing information for accuracy and completeness
  • Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
  • Investigate and appeal denied claims as necessary
  • Post payments and adjustments to patient accounts accurately
  • Resolve billing issues and answer patients' billing questions
  • Maintain confidentiality of patient and financial information
  • Stay updated on healthcare billing regulations and compliance requirements
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers and administrative staff to ensure effective billing processes
  • Generate reports on billing activities as required

Requirements:

  • 1 year of FQHC Medical Billing experience, OR 2+ years of Medical Billing claims submission experience
  • Must be comfortable working with the LGBTQ+ community
